Jacky joined FCLaw Lawyers and Private Notaries as a partner in September of 2019 after working for close to 10 years at another top law firm in Macau.
Capital Markets: he is one of the most experienced lawyers advising issuers and underwriters in Bond issuances and listing at the Macau Exchange, having participated in most of such projects until now, including as the underwriter’s legal counsel in the first local bond issuance and listing. In fact, on July 2019, Jacky working alongside with Kuok Chong Na Nana, acted as legal counsel for the Ministry of Finance of the People’s Republic of China, in assisting the said PRC governmental entity in the first sovereign bond issue program in Macau and issuing the necessary legal opinion.
He also acted as Macau counsel for several international clients in their IPO projects in Hong Kong and Shanghai, drafting and advising in the necessary documents including due diligence, legal opinions, prospectuses and works closely with several leading sponsors.
Banking & Finance: In his practice, he has advised some of the largest financial institutions in Macau, in a wide range of financing projects, as well as retail banking and regulatory and compliance matters. In fact, he worked as an in-house legal counsel in the Macau branch of a major international banking corporation under partial time secondment.
Real Estate: He was involved in some of the largest property transactions in the past decade, having advised purchasers, sellers and developers in the full range of real estate issues in Macau. He has also represented owners / landlords in land concession and leasing issues, including dealing with tenants/occupiers for surrender/eviction matters.
China: His clients also include China state-owned enterprises and private-owned enterprises and he has been involved.
